Kool as the Gang are a full 9 piece band featuring some of London’s finest Soul and Jazz-Funk Musicians. Kool as the Gang perform all of the biggest tunes from Kool and the Gang from the 1970’s Rare Groove Anthem “Funky Stuff” through to the 1980’s Disco Hit “Get Down on It“.
The hits are performed by a stellar line up of musicians from both the USA and UK.
This unique line up of musicians have not only recorded and played live on tour with some of the top acts in the world but have also had international hit records in their own right. Drummer Billy Osborne is the musical director and current producer for Alexander O’Neal.
The brass section comprises of Kenny Wellington on Trumpet, David Baptiste on Saxophone and Fayyaz Virji on Trombone being the original horn section and members of Beggar & Co, Light Of The World and Incognito.
Vocalist Glen Goldsmith who had solo hits in the 80’s shares duties with Pitta and Kiren West who have toured with many of the UK’S Top bands.
On bass and keyboards are Clint Williams And Emlyn, who are current members of Alexander O’ Neals and Gwen Dickeys (Rose Royce) band.

A fantastic Tribute to a truly great band a high quality act performing songs of the highest calibre.
Kool and the Gang were formed in 1964 by Robert “Kool” Bell and his brother Ronald. Originally known as The Jazziacs, they changed their name to Kool and the Flamesbefore settling on Kool and the Gang. Their eponymously titled debut album was released in 1969. Their 1973 album “Wild and Peaceful” spawned three massive hit singles “Funky Stuff”, “Hollywood Swinging” and “Jungle Boogie” – the latter was used in Quentin Tarantino‘s 1994 film “Pulp Fiction“.
In 1979 the band started working with Eumir Deodato and lead vocalist James “JT” Taylor. The following years were the band’s most successful with a string of worldwide hits such as “Celebration”, “Too Hot”, “Let’s Go Dancin’ ( Ooh La La )”, “Ladies Night”, “Get Down On It”, “Fresh”, “Cherish”, “Big Fun”, “Joanna” and more.
