The World famous Disco and House heroes headline HiddenBeach. They’ve done Glitterbox, Brunch-In The Park, ElRow and Love International to name but a few, and have shared the booth with the likes of Jeremy Underground, Honey Dijon, Joey Negro, Horse Meat Disco and Todd Terje. Expect shimmering Disco with throbbing underground house beats in a glorious 2-hour set designed to make your booty shake. The team’s unrelenting love for fusing soul, disco and house has taken the nu-disco scene by storm and earned them an enviable reputation in the UK where their events consistently sell out. They have remixed for everyone from Kanye West and Sam Sparro to Kink and Soul Clap. Now coming to Hastings, this will be huge.

Dutch producers, DJ’s and live act Kraak & Smaak have built up a jaw-dropping track record since their first EP dropped in the early 00s: five studio albums, four remix albums and an amazingly long string of singles and remixes (from Jamiroquai to Solomun) on labels such as Jalapeno Records, Exploited, Razor ’n Tape, Future Disco, Toolroom and Spinnin’.

Their highly original and distinctive sound, consisting of a blend of disco, funk, electronic and house, has brought their dj sets and the live band to all corners of the world and on festivals such as Glastonbury, SXSW, Exit and Coachella.

The trio just released their brand new album ‘Pleasure Centre’ on their own Boogie Angst imprint and are preparing for even more world tour manoeuvres in 2020.

Femi Williams (aka Femi Fem) kicked off his career running the Family Funktion/ Shake & Fingerpop warehouse parties in the 1980’s with Norman Jay & Judge Jules. This collective of DJs, artists musicians & filmmakers initiated the rare groove & acid jazz genre with Soul2Soul & Jamiroquai both hailing from the same club scene.

In 1990, he set up the groundbreaking Young Disciples with Marco Nelson featuring Carleen Anderson. This is the band which set the tone for the acid jazz movement in London, incorporating funk, soul, hip-hop and breakbeats into their soundscape and placing integrity at the heart of their sound. After chart success including the single Apparently Nothin’ which came from their Mercury Award-nominated Road To Freedom album on Talkin’ Loud Records.

Responding to the demand Femi began writing, producing and remixing for a wide range of artists such as Ultra Naté Justin Timberlake, Mary J. Blige, Des’ree, D’Influence, The Pasadena and Beyoncé. Alongside this work, his public profile as a headline DJ and promoter made his face well known at Cream in Liverpool, Ministry of Sound in London and at London’s Jazz Café playing at events for Prince, Janet Jackson, Stella McCartney, Jade Jagger, Gucci and the Russian Embassy to name but a few. Femi has also produced catwalk show music for fashion designers such as Ozwald Boateng, Katherine Hamnett, Julien MacDonald and Bella Freud.

The best known of Femi’s DJ appearances, however, was the regular Friday night slots at his own club nights, MOBO Award-winning, Rotation at London’s Subterranea and Saturday nights at Camouflage, his longstanding 4-floor club in Islington, London. When in town, artists such Goldie, Tricky, Spike Lee, Laurence Fishbourne, Wesley Snipes, Jay Z and Bjork would slip in unannounced to hear the sets and be part of a crowd whose distinction was their diversity and conviviality.

Femi’s DJin’ has also seen him open up to audiences around the world through tours and appearances playing in Australia, Japan, Germany,

Switzerland, Dubai, Hong Kong (where he supported the late Gil Scott Heron), Austria, France, Spain, Ibiza, Ireland, the Czech Republic, New York, and Detroit. A truly born collaborator, as musical director & resident for Supperclub in London’s Notting Hill from 2009- 2013, Femi hosted nights and introduced audiences to up and coming DJs and artists, something that he is passionate about and pursues through his mentoring of numerous emerging artists and performers.

Simon van Os first started DJing back in 1989, he began playing at hip hop and breakdance nights and progressed into club and rave events through the 90s and 00s. He is a mixologist that can play all genres of music from soul to RnB to house to breakbeat. A resident at Caister Soul Weekender, Margate Soul Festival, Summer Breeze in Corfu among many others, he is quickly becoming established as an experienced DJ that can read a crowd and rock any dance floor.

As soon as I was walking I was dancing. Music has always moved me.

Back in the 80’s I would go record shopping at the weekends Black Market – Red Records – Blue Bird – Reckless Records – Mi Price – Beano’s to name but a few. I learnt to mix on 1210’s at the age of 23 and would do warm up sets around South London.

I moved back to Kent in the early 90’s and myself and my good friend Layla started up a monthly Vinyl Soul Night. I went on to regularly play Vinyl sets at

Soul By The Sea – Herne Bay

SoulBay – Margate // Soul Ascension – Margate // Years ago Mac StLewis introduced me to The Rum Shop, Playing CDs and Soulful House Music (now my passion and chosen genre along with Tribal and Gospel House)

Rum Shop ran an annual weekender called LICKS along with RSOM where we all as a collective of DJs would play all over the country.

Some of the events I have played at are:

Sandra C’s Sunday Soul Sessions – Essex // Summer Breeze – Corfu // Let The Music Play – Stevenage // Soulanza – Lanzarote // Kavos Soul and Reggae Week – Corfu // Fab 5 Suncebeat – Croatia // Open House – Essex // Soul Village – Spain // Soul Box – Epping // Jive – Luton

Bob Selway is one of the first to DJ House music in Hastings back to 1987. Currently he is the main driving force behind the KLOODUP parties continuing to push Soulful deep house music to the dancefloor.
